Three Nigerians including Michael Titus Igweh have been executed in Indonesia despite global appeal against the harsh sentence.<br /><br />They were killed by firing squad after they were convicted for trafficking drugs, according to officials of the Indonesian government.<br />Nigerian Bulletin reports that the three Nigerians and one Indonesian were put to death after midnight on Thursday, July 28, according to Noor Rachmad, deputy attorney general for general crimes.<br />

<br />The report said the official was silent on 10 others slated to be executed but were not.<br />The United Nations (UN), European Union (EU) and the Amnesty International (AI) joined other global bodies pleading for the convicts but Indonesia rejected the appeals.<br />The report said authorities stepped up preparations with ambulances carrying coffins seen crossing over to Nusakambangan Island where the execution was to be carried out.<br />Daily Globe Watch also reports that President Joko Widodo believes Indonesia faces an emergency due to rising drugs consumption and as a result, he has strengthened the use of capital punishment to frustrate this.<br />

Jumanji fanatics were livid over news of the film's remake, but maybe this recent casting revelation will change those opinions.<br />Sources confirm to E! News that Nick Jonas is currently in talks to star in the updated imagination of the 1995 classic that featured Robin Williams in the titular role. The "Close" singer will play the role of Alex if cast, the insider adds.<br />Back in August 2015, Sony Pictures released titles and premiere dates for their forthcoming films, one of which included the Jumanji reboot. Originally slated for a Christmas 2016 release, the thriller will now make a July 28, 2017 landing. Filming will begin this fall in Honolulu, Hawaii, according to the source.<br />Other stars already confirmed to appear in the film include Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Kevin Hart and Jack Black.<br />Johnson has updated fans on the reboot's progress via his Instagram page, and in May spoke candidly on the importance of preserving Williams' legacy.<br />"An important thing that I want to be honest and bring up is Robin Williams. The love and respect I have for this man is boundless," he wrote in his post. "You have my word, we will honor his name and the character of ‘Alan Parrish' will stand alone and be forever immortalized in the world of JUMANJI in an earnest and cool way."<br />He continued, "I have an idea of what to do and I think his family will be proud. I also think Robin is somewhere lookin' down and laughing, remembering the first time we met backstage and I (for the first time ever) was a star struck bumbling idiot that couldn't even get my words out. Idiot. He literally calmed me down w/ that smile and laugh. But that's for another fun story down the road."<br />Jake Kasdan is set to direct the film while Matt Tolmach is on production duties. Ever since a mysteriously wrapped trolley car bearing the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. logo, along with flames and a chain, began driving around San Diego in the lead up to Comic-Con, fans have been abuzz with the possibility that popular Marvel antihero Ghost Rider would be involved in season four.<br />
And they were right.<br />
As the ABC series' panel at Comic-Con 2016 concluded, fans were treated to a teaser of the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo burning away, leaving behind a burning skull and the tagline, "Vengeance comes this fall." Marvel later confirmed the news, revealing that actor Gabriel Luna will assume the role of Robbie Reyes, the unstoppable Ghost Rider.<br />

"Season 4 will unquestionably be the series' biggest, most ambitious story yet, and it all begins with the introduction of one of our greatest legacy characters in Ghost Rider," Jeph Loeb, executive producer/head of Marvel Television, said in a statement. "When the Spirit of Vengeance rides into S.H.I.E.L.D., it'll change everything."<br />
This will mark the first time the character has been adapted for live-action television, though a different version was brought to life by Nicholas Cage in the 2007 movie Ghost Rider, as well as the 2012 sequel, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.<br />

The pop superstar will star as Marion Crane in the final series of Bates Motel, the television prequel to Alfred Hitchcock's classic 1960 horror film.<br />
In a video posted on Twitter, Rihanna, 28, revealed she was joining the cast of the show, which stars British actor Freddie Highmore as Norman Bates.<br />
The Umbrella singer said: "I'm about to check into the Bates Motel very soon and guess what else? Guess who's playing Marion?"<br />
The programme, which has aired on the Universal channel in the UK, will end after the fifth season next year, its makers announced at Comic-Con International in San Diego.<br />
Leigh, who died in 2004 at the age of 77, earned a Golden Globe Award and an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress for her role in Psycho.<br />

The protest began just hours after a new video showing the moment cops pinned Alton Sterling to the ground and pulled the trigger.<br />
Cops Blane Salamoni and Howie Lake II were seen yelling at Sterling to 'get on the ground' - but he does not - before he is tackled by the officers. As Sterling continues to move on the ground, officer Lake reaches for his gun and then points it at the father-of-five's chest. One of the officers then yells: 'He's got a gun! Gun! You f** move and I swear to God.'<br />
Less than two seconds later, the first shot is heard, followed quickly by another two as the startled store owner turns the camera away from the gruesome scene. Three more shots are heard as the clip ends. It is not clear whether Sterling was reaching for his gun, but he was not holding it at the time he was shot.<br />

Lionel Messi and his father Jorge have been sentenced to 21 months in prison for tax fraud, Eurosport reports.<br />
They however won’t spent any time behind bars due to their clean criminal record.<br />
Lionel Messi and his father were found to have evaded tax on Lionel’s image rights, owing more than €4m.<br />
The Court of Catalonia has now taken action and now sentenced the both of them to just under two years in prison.<br />
However, as the sentence is short of two years, and neither Lionel nor Jorge have a criminal record, they won’t be required to serve any jail time.<br />

17-Year Old Nigerian Stabbed To Death In London

The Guardian UK, reported that a 17-year old Nigerian student, Folajimi Orebiyi was fatally stabbed to death by a gang of youths.<br />Orebiyi, who is said to stay in the Kensington area of London bled to death on Sunday night outside La Cave à Fromage after he was left in the pool of his own blood.<br />

Some group of Nigerian researchers called on the Federal Government to take measures that could reduce the effects of the earthquake that has been predicted for some states in the country.<br />Dr. Adepelumi Adekunle Abraham who was the leader of the research has submitted its report titled "Preliminary Assessment of Earth Tremor Occurrence in Shaki Area, Shaki West Local Government, Oyo State, indicating an impending "damaging earthquake" in the next four years. The Nigerian Association of Water-Well Drilling Rig Owners and Practitioners (AWDROP), called on the Federal Government to take measures that could reduce the effects of the earthquake that has been predicted.<br />AWDROP lamented that lack of Underground Water Abstraction Regulation in Nigeria, could easily induce earthquake and sea water intrusion, “hence the need for government to ensure strict compliance in the implementation of code of practice in borehole drilling” in the country.<br />According to DailyTrust, Michael Ale said his Association had been informed of the salt water intrusion affecting underground water usage and subsidence along the land-ocean boundaries in shoreline areas.<br />The areas are; Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River and Oyo State<br />He advised the Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Adamu, to create an integrated groundwater management modelling tools to improve sustainable management efforts and optimize resources utilization
