Naij reported that Four Catholic priests were arrested in Imo State for masterminding a protest that led to the shooting of a DPO.
During the protest, irate youths burnt cars and barricaded the highway, heavily disrupting the town.
Commissioner of Police in the state, Taiwo Lakanu, states that the Divisional Officer of Police that was shot, Danjuma Ragga, was shot on the leg while trying to calm to the tension.
The reverend who was leading the protest was trying to get police patrol vans to be burnt down and the youths hauled missiles at the police.
Lakanu has stated that those involved will be heavily punished for their crime.
